Well, the court date was for some sort of evidence hearing, which apparently is pretty normal (according to our agency, there's only about 1 in 10 families don't get an evidence hearing), and it should be our last court date before guardianship. They don't require any more from us .. just more information regarding the child. (the frustration factor here comes from the fact that any and all info they need can more than likely be found right in the file). How long before our next court date is anyones guess, but it "should" be within the next month.
Meanwhile, the wait continues for the families that have been waiting to travel. Under "normal" conditions (if there is such a thing), the time from guardianship to travel is right around a month. It takes this long to get the paperwork from the courts, and then to get the childs passport application processed. Right now though, its more like two months. That means if we get guardianship before the end of September, we could be travelling as far out as the end of November. Of course, there is that outside chance that things will get back to "normal" between now and then.
I'll be thrilled if we have you here for Christmas.
In the meantime, we're keeping busy getting the girls organised to start back at school next week, and also planning our next garage sale. Our link to our magazine fundraiser at the very top of the page has so far made us $16 .. (special thanks to Mik and Teresa for their magazine orders!)
Well baby, its your little sisters 4th birthday today, so we're off to make cupcakes and open pressies!

A month to travel, huh. Does this mean I might still have time to arrange the luxo train ride between when our guardianship is granted and when we reach the orphanage?!
Christmas sounds like a great goal for your family.
