Adopting from India - The long and winding road....

Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ~Elizabeth Stone

Last night we had Peter spend the night. He was pretty excited that he got to sleep in your bed, and it met with his full approval. Initially I think he was a little bothered that he was spending the night in a house with ALL girls, but he had a good time. Within a couple of hours of him getting here, Maddie even had him playing with dolls ... (but sssshhhh, we won't embarrass him by telling his friends!). Molly went to a sleepover birthday party last night, and she tried REALLY hard to spend the night. This was her second sleepover party, and the first one she ended up coming home at 1am. Well last night, the first call came around 9pm ... she still wanted to stay the night, but just wanted to say Hi because she was missing me. The next call came at 10pm, and she wanted to come home. I'm proud of her for trying so hard to stay the night. Of course, she came home, and then wanted to play. Maddie and Peter were awake at that point .. they had been to sleep, but Maddie had woken Peter back up. Before going to bed, Peter had asked Maddie to wake him in the morning as he didn't want to sleep in. Maddie took this as meaning she could wake Peter late at night just to tell him she was going to the bathroom. So here we were at midnight, hanging out in your room eating apples and watching TV. It will be early nights in this house tonight!

I only have to work one day next week, which will be really nice. Tomorrow I'm going to call and see if Becky got that homestudy written, and if she did we'll arrange to pick it up and drive to Yakima to get your immigration started. I'm very excited to get this next part of the process started, as its one step closer to having you here with us.

We're trying to decide where to spend the extra few days we want to take with you before we come home. Our first choice is obviously India, but the main concern is the weather at the time of the year we're going to be there. Once we get a date for travel, we'll know for sure what to do. If not India, then maybe a couple of days in Hong Kong on the way home could be fun? It won't be as hot, and yet still lots of fun things to see and do. We'll have to work that one out closer the time. As long as you're with us, we could be spending two days on Mars and I'd be happy!!
